A proven process for redesign and restructure.
Evenlode Catchment Partnership
The Evenlode Catchment Partnership (ECP) has been dedicated to improving water quality, enhancing biodiversity, and managing flood risks while increasing climate resilience across the Evenlode catchment area. Their mission is to create a thriving, sustainable water environment that benefits both wildlife and local communities.
As a collaboration of over 20 organisations there was a lot of information and with numerous stakeholders, they needed help to produce a website that conveyed their message, clearly identified their goals and demonstrated how to get involved.

- a 16by9 project
This gave us (a collaboration with 16by9) the opportunity to organise an in-person workshop in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. We were fortunate that stakeholders from the various organisations were able to attend.
During the workshop we explored their target audience, talked about their personas then mapped out and grouped content with hands on, practical sessions. These workshops are really useful to provide a direction to the projects, it gets everybody involved, giving them their opportunity for input but most importantly, it helps us, as outsiders, understand who they are and what they do.

Simplifying content, improving user journey.
Wireframes are created to visually represent the structure and basic layout of a website. This ensured we focused on user journey’s and easy of navigation especially since there was so much information. During the workshop we uncovered a number of personas so it was important the goals for each of those visitors was clear and easy.
As you can see in the examples below, wireframes are void of any design or brand colours allowing us to really focus on the content structure. This is usually the first time the client can start to visualise our thoughts – compiling content becomes an easier task.

No straight lines
Let’s be honest, a mucky riverbed is not the most inspiring of visuals, we had to produce something earthy, on brand and allow such an amount of content to be easily digested. “No straight lines” was a requirement that was explored during the workshop. Since we’re working with water this seemed a feasible request and you’ll see how that came to life in the final designs.

Built with WordPress
One this occasion Marc @ 16by9 handled the front end and WordPress integration. I enjoy working with Marc because he always understands my vision and he has a keen eye for design. It’s always exciting seeing the designs come to life as a working website.
Marc is a WordPress guru and it’s important to us that the backend of the website is also easy and intuitive to use. ECP populated the entire site from the components and wireframes we’d provided them with 30 minutes of WordPress training.
The process was really smooth with ECP, they were a pleasure to work with and I believe they have a great looking, functional website that they can develop in the future.
“You have turned what could have been a nightmare process into a dream of a project. You made the effort to really understand our project, and the workshop was so helpful in working out what we wanted. We absolutely love the design, and we’re finding it very easy to update and maintain. You’ve always been really responsive to our queries and requests, and have been a delight to work with. We’d thoroughly recommend others to have their websites built by you.”
